What is eHand ™?
eHand ™ is an ARS (Audience Response System) that allows an audience member to submit their question via text message instead of raising their hand and asking a question.

Why was it developed?
How does someone in the audience use it?
When instructed by you, the audience will text a unique 'audience code' (e.g. CONFERENCE) as the first word of a text message, leave a space, then their question. They will then send this to one of our four digit numbers that we assign to you. This question will then be displayed to you on our private website that you can be logged into. With eHand ™ PLUS you can tell us what Audience Code you would prefer, otherwise with eHand ™ Basic we will generate one.
Audience Code? What is this?
This is what our software uses to send the correct question to you. It is one word that the audience will put as the first word of their message. For example, on the home page you will see that on the mobile phone, someone has typed 'Econ101 Does a government imposed price restriction affect a market driven Supply and Demand graph?'.
The 'Econ101' is the audience code. Any audience member typing your Audience Code will have their messages sent to you. With eHand ™ PLUS you can tell us what Audience Code you want.
How fast do questions show up?
Messages show up in real-time, meaning immediately after sending. This real-time interaction allows you to understand the audience in the moment.
Are messages filtered for obscenities?
Yes, with eHand ™ PLUS all messages are filtered for obscenities. We can even create a black mark so you will never see any messages from this number again. With eHand ™ Basic messages are shown to the speech giver.
How much does it cost?

How does the audience know what to do?
We provide specific instructions either in PowerPoint format or voice instructions for you to relay back to your audience. The instructions are very simple, so no heavy duty explanation is needed.
Are the questions publicly viewable?
No, only you will be able to see the questions sent in. With eHand ™ PLUS you can export your messages to Excel file for review post-speech.
What details of the sender will I see?
With eHand ™ PLUS you will see the senders contact details, date, time and their question. With eHand ™ Basic you will see the day, time and their question.
Can I create a database of my audience?
Yes, with eHand ™ PLUS we can customise a solution that will allow your audience members to receive future messages from you via text message. An example of this could be if a lecturer wanted to update students on exam dates or study reminders.
If someone texts in a question, who pays?
This is optional. Either the audience member will pay 20c or you can cover the cost.
Can I get the questions in a spreadsheet afterward?
Provided you have the eHand ™ PLUS then it will be possible to export all the questions to Excel.
Can I respond to the questions individually?
If you have the eHand ™ PLUS package then it will be possible. There will be a 'reply' button next to each question.
Do I need internet connection?
To view the questions in real-time, you will need internet connection. However the messages will be received for viewing later if you can't get internet access.
